In this project, I was asked by Shir Bar-gil Cohen of Roy David Architecture Studio and the wonderful clients lead by Sharon Sasson
”work through the company's Brand Book”. Yes that's how Brand Bock. Branded visual book with color settings and a certain geometry that draws from the logo. For years I have been engaged in a dialogue, or rather a personal monologue, that I conduct with myself:
Do design websites or clear visuals inspire or close my mind and creativity?
I have no definitive answer, but I usually avoid texts that produce an intuitive visual for me and less visual references. Give me my freedom. Give me a logo or something out of your visual language and mostly give me content. What the company does, what its background is, what values ​​it advocates and so on. Over the years and adulthood, I know that everything is an inspiration. Brand work was the starting point for leaning on him and leaving him for a new creation. And how branding seems hermetic can always be deconstructed. So I dove into his brand portfolio and visual language. The design / architectural concept and request of a studio from me was in these words (and I quote): "It has to be either part of the logo or something really abstract that illustrates layers / data flow. Trust you!" Thank you thank you (while in my heart I wish / yes God how do you work with such a thing ?!) In the distant past even before I started studying, I was seriously debating between graphic design (so it's not called visual communication) and industrial design. In the end I decided that more 3D does this to me, but it seems to me that all my 3D work is noticeable, I am also a bit / much graphic. I realized very quickly that in this project I wanted to produce something in a two-dimensional game. Something that is basically graphic is a layered game, something that will start from a mural and develop into a layered textural material game. So I contacted artist Dima Korma from following him on instagram I knew he was tailor made for the project and collaborated with him. Dima deals with paintings that are intricate in their structure (though dimensional) in layers. The multiplicity and variation of textures in his paintings visually create a layer upon layer upon layer. We met a very brief and accurate meeting; The book needs to be disassembled with a brand and produced something else from it and the colorful language retained. Do not take this as a limitation. The opposite. You create what you want, keep your essence and I then take things down and transform them into materials and create from your layer paintings real layers from three to three substrate and texture to material. I really like to give freedom to the artists I collaborate with and not dictate their work. I choose them carefully, in accordance with the precision of the artistic concept I produce for each project and project. I believe this is how you get a result of 1 + 1 = 3 and not 2. From there my editing work - what turns into matter, what stays in color, what produces colored texture and what produces material texture. What's in it and what's in the tricycle. The range of materials: black iron, solid wood, brass, aluminum, semi-transparent and / or opaque colored (plexiglass) and concrete castings. Brand that comes out of the box while retaining the values ​​and brand of the company and decodes them into art on the 7 office walls.
